Take Back the Day with a Simple Routine

Do you start the day feeling frazzled? Do you struggle to get focused first thing? Do you feel like you’re just not a “morning person”? I’ve been there too, but starting this simple morning routine has made ALL the difference! So I wanted to share my new morning routine with you as well as how it’s helped me improve my focus, increase my productivity, and achieve my goals.

Seriously, this is SO simple, but it has made ALL of the difference for me when it comes to feeling focused and productive throughout the day! It’s also been helping me crush the goals that I have not just for my business but also for my family and relationships!

My Simple Morning Routine

That probably sounds too good to be true, right?! Haha. Well, it’s NOT! And before your completely write this off thinking I’m telling you you have to wake up at the crack of dawn to do it, I’m not! I do encourage you to get up a little ahead of your kiddos or the other members of your family just so you get a little “me time” each day before the onslaught of activities comes your way, but you can honestly get this routine done in a matter of minutes. So here is what it looks like:

1. Write at least 3 present gratitudes.

These are things you are grateful for right now! These gratitudes have already come to pass. So write down three things that you are feeling blessed by TODAY!

2. Write at least 3 future gratitudes.

These three items are things that have not yet come to be that you are trusting God for, that you’re praying about, and that you’re working on.

3. Write 3-5 affirmation statements.

These affirmations should be things that are specifically aligned to what you want to accomplish each day. Mine are all the same each day, but you may find that you need to adjust them from time to time. If you feel like you don’t know where to start, check out this list.

Start Your Own Routine

Now, I know several of you are probably thinking, “I don’t need to write them, do I?” Well, here is the thing…YES! You do! Not only does the act of writing require that you read the statement, say it to yourself, write it, and reread it. But journaling these also gives you something to go back to down the road. I know I’m personally looking forward to flipping back through my journal a year from now and seeing all of the ways God has been faithful and shown up in our life! So write it down! And if you don’t have a journal yet, print out a few of these sheets to get you started!
