Growing up I lived in the same town in the same home in the same room, my entire life. An experience that afforded me the opportunity to be accustomed to experiencing none other than all four seasons, but the one that I always looked forward to the most was fall.
While a lot has changed since those days, one thing remains undeniably the same. Fall is my favorite season. I love the colors, smells, flavors, decorations…The list goes on, but on the top of that list is making fun fall memories.

If you are an allergy sufferer, you are probably answering my question already with a definitive YES! But, I want to take this question, “Are our health needs different in each season?” just a step further. I’m not just talking allergies, or even cold and flu. I want to know whether our overall health and wellness is impacted by the changing of the seasons. So, let’s dive in and discuss a few things.
I’ll admit it, I know I am a bit of a “fair-weather” woman. (In fact, my family used to call me the “Fairweather Queen,” and I may have even had an AOL screen name based off of that nickname…Who remembers those?) Anyway, I can identify specific symptoms of lower energy and lower mood or affect when it’s dark and dreary outside, but I always thought this effect was normal.
