We’ve all been there. Unwanted. Unappreciated. Unloved. Not enough…The thoughts linger in our heads and come back to haunt us on our most sensitive of days.
The problem is we live in a fallen, broken world. We have relationships with broken people. We ourselves are broken. And one of the easiest ways Satan finds to invade our space is using this brokenness to tell us we’re not enough.
But guess what! He is wrong. That’s right. He has no idea what he’s talking about, and you needn’t give him the power to believe he does.
As excited as I am to welcome our little one into the world in a few months and as happy as I am to be doing the work-at-home gig, there are still days where I feel myself worn down, wondering…Why am I not enough?
While some days I’m better at warding off those feelings than others, I decided it was a good idea to have some go-to verses to remind myself of who I really am, of who Jesus says I am, and who God claims me as. If you’re like me and have those periodic days where you just don’t feel like you’re enough, check out these verses…
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Rom. 8:1
“The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” Psalm 138:8
“…for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” I Cor. 6:20
“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” Rom. 8:16 & 17
“…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” Phil 1:6
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us…and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” Eph. 2:4&6
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” I Peter 2:9
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Eph. 2:10
“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” Is. 43:25
