Just like every other holiday this year, it seems like Valentine’s Day has snuck up on us. We don’t do anything too major for this holiday, but we still like to do a little something for one another as a good reminder of how much we care. As I was thinking about what we want to do this year, I realized how little time we have, but I was also able to come up with some fun and simple last minute ideas for Valentine’s Day. It probably comes as no surprise…I love Christmas! But, this holiday was particularly special being that it was Grace’s first. Even though she was only three months old and won’t remember this Christmas, we still wanted to make it extra special for her, and I thought I’d share a few ways we did. We continued some of the traditions that we had already started as a couple, and we instituted a few new ones. And, I’d have to say it was a real success for all of us. Take a look.

All throughout December, our church has been participating in a series entitled “A Different Kind of Christmas” with the intention to encourage all of us to look at, participate in, and celebrate Christmas just a little differently this year. Even as Christ followers, it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, in receiving presents and making cookies, in putting up lights and decorating the tree…without really getting down to the “nitty gritty” of the season itself. I know I’ve been guilty of this, and I’m sure others have to. So, how do we make this “a different kind of Christmas” with just two days left before the big celebration?
