Spice Up Your Fall Fitness

I don’t know about you, but about the time I see the first leaf fall (okay, it’s really when everyone heads back to school), I’m ready to don my scarf and boots and start sipping my Pumpkin Spice Latte – the healthy one of course! I seriously love EVERYTHING about fall!!! You’re probably thinking, “So what’s the problem?” Or maybe you guessed it already…

As much as I love all of the scents and flavors and fun of fall, it can all wreak havoc on my nutrition and fall fitness routine! Although delicious, most of the flavors of fall are a bit decadent and less than nutritious. And with the extra busyness of the season (with after school practices and football games and harvest festivals…) who really has a ton of time to or wants to take the time to work out? So what’s a girl to do?!

Struggle sticking to your health and wellness goals this time of year? Spice up your fall fitness with this fun, effective option!

How to Know It’s Time to Switch Up Your Workout

Let me be totally honest with you…I was always the girl who hated working out. (Truth be told, I hated the thought of a workout. I even hated to sweat.)

But once I started working out and looking at it as an opportunity to take care of myself, I started enjoying it! Okay, okay, that may be stretching it a little…I’d still rather be snuggled on the couch with my little reading our favorite books, but you get what I mean.

Learning to Prioritize Me as a New Mom

I still remember those days as a new mom SO well. After bringing my sweet little girl home and spending the first few weeks in utter disbelief that she was finally here and I was actually a mom, real life started setting in.

The reality of having a tiny person constantly attached to me (literally she nursed ALL.the.time!) and the responsibility of taking care of not only myself but another precious life sank in. In the early days, it didn’t seem like that big of a deal. My husband was still home on paternity leave, and we had family in and out. So I had extra hands to hold her so I could do things like going to the bathroom, changing clothes, and maybe eating a snack hands-free.

As a new mom, it is so hard to prioritize self-care. Learn a few of the ways I used to prioritize me even as a brand new mom!

Simple Health Solutions for Busy Moms

As moms we have a lot on our plates. Diaper changes, play dates, family meals, classroom meetings, job responsibilities…

You name it, we take care of it. And often that means we put ourselves and our own needs last. I quickly found, though, when I neglected myself and especially my nutrition, I didn’t have as much to give.

As busy moms we put our needs on the back burner, which only leaves us with less to give. Check out these simple health solutions for busy moms to help!
