As moms, our time is at a premium. Between taking care of little ones, keeping house, and pursuing our own careers or endeavors, we don’t have much any time to waste. I’ve always been a pretty productive person, but the transition to motherhood helped me see even more clearly how I needed to maximize my time to get everything done effectively. So, I’ve come up with a few simple strategies for getting more done every day, and I thought I’d share them with you.

If you’ve been following my journey on Facebook or Instagram at all, you’ve probably heard me refer to a “Challenge Group” once or twice (or multiple times)…But, I realized that if you’ve never been involved in a group or if you’re not really tied to Beachbody in any way, you probably really don’t know what that term means or what the benefits of said groups are. So, I wanted to take the time today to spill all the details on what challenge groups are and how they can be beneficial for helping you reach your health and fitness goals.
Being successful with your health and fitness goals isn’t easy. Whether you’re focused on losing weight, toning up, building muscle, or even gaining weight, it isn’t easy to stay on track and stick to those goals. However, I’ve found one thing that has helped me be effective more than any other and that is pretty easy – just keep it simple. You’re probably chuckling to yourself right now, thinking “Yeah, right. Keeping it simple is really going to help me be successful…” If I hadn’t applied the principle myself, I’d be right there with you. But, I’m here to tell you keeping it simple is one of the single most effective ways to reach your goals (and keep your sanity), so let me explain a little more.
I’ve had people tell me, literally, “I was really afraid to open up that meal plan because I figured it was going to be complicated recipes and things I couldn’t do. But, I was so surprised. These recipes look easy, like things that I can really make!” That’s my goal for me, for you, and for anyone whom I share the health and fitness journey with because, let’s be honest, if it’s complicated, I’m not going to do it. I have too many other things going on to complicate my healthy lifestyle. So, how do I keep it simple, you ask. Here are a few tips!
No matter what stage of life we’re in, we all have goals that we’d like to achieve. But, many times those goals are easier said than done. I don’t know about you, but I’ve often set goals regarding my physical fitness, spiritual walk, professional endeavors, etc. only to stick to them for a few weeks and then fizzle out. Each time I’ve thought I had the know how to accomplish said goals, but it hasn’t always worked out that way. As I know I’ll be setting a few goals, specifically fitness-oriented, once Little One comes, I am focusing on how to maximize my success rate, so I’ve come up with a little strategy I like to call the 3Ds of success.
The strategy is relatively simple and helps me draw on what I already know about goal setting, such as using SMART goals, writing my objectives down, and breaking my goals down into smaller chunks. But, it also helps me see the specifics of achieving my goals in any area. Continue reading
