Something that God has really been impressing on my heart this week is literally how He so richly provides for us. It’s not just in big things either. He provides in simple, small, consistent ways, and for that I could not be more thankful.
That understanding of His provision is something that I also want to start cultivating in Grace right now. So, I decided there was no better verse than this one found in Philippians 4:19 to focus on this week, Continue reading
Our church started a new series in Proverbs on Sunday, and as we read through this week’s verse, it really stood out to me. I want Grace to develop into a women of wisdom, and I want her to understand that the instruction that her daddy and I give her is intended to help her do that. I think this verse is a perfect reminder of the concept for all of us.
We were at a playdate the other day, which had me thinking. As grace grows, I want her to develop effective relationships with other kids. I want her to care about them and treat them kindly. So, I thought about what we needed to start instilling in her now so that when she’s old enough she develops that kind of thoughtfulness toward others and couldn’t help but think of this week’s verse.
Another concept that I’ve been thinking a lot about lately is my attitude. So often I let my attitude get the best of me, looking or feeling negatively about a certain situation or event. However, that is not the attitude that God would have me take, and that is not the example I want to set for my daughter.
There are so many components of the health and wellness issue that relate to our hearts and spirit as well. That tie in is one of the biggest reason I’ve recommitted to my wellness journey and want so desperately to set that example for my daughter. God illustrates that point to us in so many verses throughout the Bible, but one that was on my heart today was Genesis 1:27,
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
