I don’t know about you, but every once in a while I just need a little detox. Whether it’s after vacation, a big birthday weekend, or even a major holiday, sometimes I just need something to clean out my system and help me get back on track with my goals. In the past, detox typically meant starvation for me, but with my recent focus on nutrition and really caring for my body, I wanted a better way, a healthier way to detox. So, I gave the 3-Day Refresh a try, and it’s my new go-to when I need a little system reset.
It probably comes as no surprise…I love Christmas! But, this holiday was particularly special being that it was Grace’s first. Even though she was only three months old and won’t remember this Christmas, we still wanted to make it extra special for her, and I thought I’d share a few ways we did. We continued some of the traditions that we had already started as a couple, and we instituted a few new ones. And, I’d have to say it was a real success for all of us. Take a look.
So, it’s literally almost here. It’s hard to believe it, but Christmas is just two days away. The holiday season has just flown by (like it does every year), but I’d like to think that this year was a little…different.
All throughout December, our church has been participating in a series entitled “A Different Kind of Christmas” with the intention to encourage all of us to look at, participate in, and celebrate Christmas just a little differently this year. Even as Christ followers, it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, in receiving presents and making cookies, in putting up lights and decorating the tree…without really getting down to the “nitty gritty” of the season itself. I know I’ve been guilty of this, and I’m sure others have to. So, how do we make this “a different kind of Christmas” with just two days left before the big celebration? Well, there are still plenty of ways to make this year different. Here are just a few ways we’ve already made it a different kind of Christmas or how we plan to still do so…
One of my favorite pastimes during the holiday season is baking. But when I’m making treats to enjoy around the house and to take with us elsewhere, the cost of holiday baking can add up fast, particularly because I like to get a good variety of treats. However, I have discovered a few ways to save a little money on holiday baking so I don’t have to put as much of our Christmas budget toward baking. So, if you want to enjoy your holiday baking without busting your budget, check out these tips for saving money on your holiday baking.
I don’t know about you, but my holiday season just isn’t complete if I haven’t gotten to watch all of my favorite Christmas movies. In fact, this year I started watching a few of them a little earlier than normal because I just couldn’t wait any longer…To me there is nothing like sitting down in the evening during the holiday season to enjoy a fun and festive Christmas movie. So which ones are my favorite? Here are my top ten in no particular order.
