Don’t get me wrong, I love the traditional Valentine’s Day flowers and chocolate. But the most memorable Valentine gifts I’ve gotten have been the ones that weren’t things but rather experiences! So I thought I’d share a few of my favorite Valentine gifts to give and receive. (One of the great things about these options too is if you’re a little late to the game, you can put one of these ideas together last minute!)
1. Three-Course Date
One of my favorite Valentine’s Day memories was a year we decided to forgo gifts and went on a “three-course” date instead. We picked some new places to try and had appetizers, entrees, and dessert in three different spots! We made a point to try local places that were specifically known for their cuisine we tried. My favorite by far was cheesecake at a local baker, but everything was delicious!
2. Adventure Course
We recently joined our youth at an adventure center/trampoline park, and I couldn’t help but think what a fun date it would make! There are probably lots of different locations to go in your area, but ours was a local Urban Air facility! There is just something so fun about adventuring together, and I bet several places are even offering gift packages for the holiday!
3. Recreated Date
We haven’t done this one yet, but I may just have to make it happen this year. Taking the time to recreate a memorable date from your past with your spouse or significant other is such a fun, thoughtful Valentine gift! I love this idea too because it takes some added planning, is great for reminiscing, and really demonstrates how much you care!
4. Couple’s Massage
We’ve been saying for months that we need to schedule massages, so I’m loving this idea for this year too! You could even switch it up and give each other massages if you don’t have it in your budget to pay for professional massages this year!
5. Home Cooked Meal
One of our favorite things to do together before we had Grace was cooking together. Nearly every evening we’d spend the time prepping everything and putting it together. Now I’m lucky to get everything prepared and thrown on plates before it’s time to start the bedtime routine, so slowing down and taking a little time to cook together would be a real treat! This Valentine gift is great if you’re on a tight budget this year too!
6. Cooking Class
There’s obviously a theme to my suggestions…Girl likes to eat, what can I say?! But seriously, how fun would it be to take a class and learn something new together! There’s a local place that does baking classes in our area that I’d love to try! But I think any kind of cooking or even an art class would be loads of fun!
7. Marriage Retreat
Okay, so I’m getting a little deep on this one, but what better way to show your significant other your love than to invest in your relationship?! Plus, I know there are tons of marriage retreats and seminars that are a treat in themselves, so it would make the perfect Valentine gift!
Y’all! We have so many home projects on our list that I’d love to get going, so if my hubby gifted me a little DIY time, I’d be swooning! Whether it’s a home project or just creating a fun new art piece together, think of the memories you’d make with a gift like this! There are even tons of fun kits you could get to do together!
9. Date Night Subscription
I’ve had my eye on one of the Date Night In subscriptions for months now! And there are so many to choose from that you could find the perfect option for you and your significant other! I love this idea too because it keeps on giving and helps you continue to make special time with your significant other a priority all year long rather than just on Valentine’s Day!
10. Health Membership
I’m sure that last one comes as no surprise, but seriously, what better way to show your significant other you love them than helping them invest in their overall health and well-being?! I can’t think of a better gift! One of my favorite tools I use is my virtual gym! It gives me access to hundreds of programs that I can do right in my basement – a perfect solution for us busy mamas! But you know your significant other best, so think about paying for an entrance into a race or gifting a pass to a local gym. Improving your health literally improves your entire life, so why would you not want to gift that to someone you love?
I can’t wait to pick out my favorite Valentine gifts for the man of my heart! I hope that you found a few of these ideas helpful too, and if you are interested in gifting someone with the opportunity for better health, send me an email so I can help!
