Baby’s First Christmas

It probably comes as no surprise…I love Christmas! But, this holiday was particularly special being that it was Grace’s first. Even though she was only three months old and won’t remember this Christmas, we still wanted to make it extra special for her, and I thought I’d share a few ways we did. We continued some of the traditions that we had already started as a couple, and we instituted a few new ones. And, I’d have to say it was a real success for all of us. We kicked off our Christmas festivities with a pre-Christmas Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Grammy and Pappy’s house. Jammies and Book on Christmas Eve

When we returned home on Christmas Eve, Grace opened her jammies and book. Gingerbread House

The past couple of years, we’ve done a family gingerbread house competition. We didn’t do the competition this year, but we still built a house. Christmas Breakfast

We have a simple breakfast tradition of Christmas bread. Grace didn’t try any this year, but I still made our bread, and it was delicious!

Gift Exchange

We exchanged gifts at home on Christmas Day. I wrote both Grace and my husband a note to remind them of what this year has contained and to look forward to the year ahead. I hope to do this for them each year and keep them for them to read throughout the holiday season.

Movies

After breakfast, gifts, and a family nap, we enjoyed one of our favorite holiday movies, It’s a Wonderful Life, as a family.
