If you’ve been around here long, you know I love all things sweet. But what you may not know is that I also love all things breakfast. In fact, I can still remember Saturday mornings when my dad would get up before the rest of us and fix a big breakfast, and to this day, I still love when we’re visiting for the weekend and my dad makes one of his breakfasts. So what is my favorite? You may have already guessed…French toast!
As we rounded the bend to yet another display and another handful of candy, one of the “treaters” said to me…”It’s your favorite night of the year, right?” As we laughed knowing that she was being sarcastic and making light of the fact that we typically try to keep our candy and namely sugar intake to a minimum, it made me think. I don’t necessarily love the onslaught of candy that the Halloween is known for, but truth be told, because our focus is balance, I don’t mind the occasional treat (or trick) here or there. I do try to do my best to keep it all in moderation, though, so I thought I’d share a few of my tips for enjoying a healthy and Happy Halloween!
It’s no secret around here that I love my sweets, so when I got the idea to try a new recipe with my toddler each week…I was ALL for it! And of course we started with “treats,” but I want all of our recipes to be ones we can all enjoy. So I opted to try a clean eating pumpkin recipe, and it did NOT disappoint! This Clean Eating Pumpkin Cake was a hit with all of us (even if my little one chose to play outside with her daddy instead of bake with me).
Okay, okay, I know you’re probably getting tired of all of the pumpkin recipes…But, I know there are a few of you out there who are just like me and CAN’T get enough of the pumpkin. So, I just HAD to share this recipe with you!
Ever since getting home from our leadership retreat (more to come on that later hopefully) last week, I just can’t seem to get this thought of “creating space” out of my mind. I have always loved what I do as a coach and mentor, but for the last couple of months, I just felt like I was going through the motions and in a bit of a funk or brain fog, you might call it. One of our focuses on our retreat, though, was regaining our vision and really fine-tuning our process to be even more effective. And I just came home feeling like I had so much more space and clarity.
I know that I am not the only mama obsessed with doing big things and living my best life, so I decided I needed to share with you what I’ve been doing to make a little more space in my life. Now, I know that all probably sounds a little abstract, so just bear with me…I’m going to get to the practical, but first, how do you know you need a little more space?
