How To Actually Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions

**I’ve found some tools that have been instrumental in my pursuit of making my resolutions reality, so I’ve included them with affiliate links where appropriate below. All that means is if you think you’ll love one of the tools I mention as much as I do and decide to purchase through my link, I’ll receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Annual Ditch Day…Did you know that was really a thing (beyond your senior year of high school)? Yeah, me neither, but apparently it is. Only it applies to ditching your New Year’s resolutions rather than 8 hours of instruction time and happens mid-January every year (January 17th to be exact). I still kind of chuckle at the thought, but I get it too.

I mean, really…How many times have you set your sights on completely overhauling your life on the brink of January 1st only to have abandoned ship by a couple of days in? ✋🏼 No? Just me! Well, then for those of you who have your lives together, you can scroll on through. But I think the rest of us will admit it’s happened at least a time or two to us.

How to Get Kids to Eat Healthy

I feel pretty fortunate in that Grace is a relatively healthy eater with no big effort on our part (I mean, really, what 2 year old just asks for hummus as a snack). But I say that and realize I have been pretty intentional with our approach to food with her since day one, so I thought I’d share a few of the ways we’ve gotten our toddler to eat healthy in hopes that it helps some of you other mamas who are struggling.

And let me just put this disclaimer out there too (should the universe or my two year old be listening and decide to challenge me)…I know kids are picky, they go through phases, and their tastes change. I remember being told a time or two a story on myself when I refused to eat my veggies because I wasn’t in a “green or orange or yellow mood.” So I’m sharing what’s working for us now in hopes that it keeps working and sheds a little light on the subject of healthy eating for kids.

Have a child who is a picky eater? Check out these simple tips (and a fun recipe) to help him or her learn to eat healthy!

Cultivating Purpose

Each year I try to choose a word to frame my focus for the year. (I know that’s not a new concept for anyone, but still.) In years past, I have chosen words that were very action-oriented or success driven. But this year, my word is purpose.

Throughout the holiday season, I pursued the concept of intentionality and joy, so I’m carrying that into this new year and just feeling a complete shift. Whereas the last couple of years in my life have been about hustle and really survival, this year I’m settling in, finding my stride, and going for purpose – in motherhood, in marriage, in business, in life…

Have you set your focus for this year? Learn how I'm cultivating purpose both in word and action in today's blog post! Plus, take a peek at one of my favorite purpose-driving tools!

Get Obsessed…with Your Life!

Over the past 2 years, I’ve undergone a bit of a transformation. Yes, of course it has been a physical one, but even more so it’s been a mental/emotional one. After having my daughter I realized how much I had struggled with self-doubt and poor self-image (outwardly manifested as perfectionism), and I decided something had to change.

It was then that I started my very first fitness program and hesitantly joined the online accountability group my coach recommended. And while those two components were the vehicle for change for me, it was really about so much more than that…

Clean Eating Peanut Butter Balls

One of the holiday treats I remember having the most from my childhood were peanut butter balls. (That and those peanut butter Ritz cracker sandwiches dipped in chocolate. The peanut butter and chocolate loved started early with this one.) While I’m all for enjoying the real deal in moderation, I also figured it might be fun to try my hand at making a clean eating version of this family favorite!

Enjoy the holiday cookies and goodies? Give these Clean Eating Peanut Butter balls a try for a holiday treat you won't feel bad about indulging in!
